Gracie Goes to School

hi everybody!

i'm such a big girl now!

i go to kindergarten

 (which is like preschool) every day

from 8:30am to 1:30pm

can you believe it?

my school is a ten minute walk from our house

this is our playground

i like it a lot!

my favorite is to go on the see-saw

with my new friends

each morning when i get to school

i go into the coatroom

i look for my picture and then

 i hang up my coat or sweater

and my backpack

each of our mommies made us

our own special bag to put our shoes n stuff in

that's mine with the red, blue and yellow

after i hang up my stuff it's time

to take off my regular shoes

and put my 'houseshoes' on

that's what they do here in germany

houseshoes are just like slippers

mine are pink, of course :)

yay!

i'm all ready to go upstairs

to my classroom

wanna come mit?

(that's how i've been talking lately,

part english and part german...

mom and dad say i'm going to be

fluent in no time.

what they're sprechen about, though)

there is so much to do in my new classroom

here i am playing a puzzle

i also like to draw

or to feed the pet snail

my class has a really cool upstairs fort

we go up there to read books

or sometimes just to goof around

that below is a little play kitchen

which i really like, too

mommy packs me breakfast each morning

it's called Fruhstuck

we eat it at 10am

most of our mommies make us sandwiches

then at 12:30pm we have a hot lunch together

mmmm good!

by the end of the day

i am really, really happy

to see my mommy

i run to her with a big smile on my face

thank you for praying for me

it's been a little hard adjusting

but now i really like my new school

and today i told mama

that i didn't want to leave
