after karen had already said yes to the bracelets, i received an email from a different caryn, in texas, that i'd never heard from before. she had learned about our ministry from a mutual friend of ours, and expressed interest in the women of her church being part of any upcoming gifts we were planning.
i told her about the YOU ARE GOLD themed gift and bracelets, and let her know that we'd welcome handmade cards to attach to the gifts. she said they'd be delighted to make them. about a month later we received a huge box in the mail of embellished delights.
the cards, as you can see, were
gorgeous
extravagant
&
fancy
(very fitting for our
GOLD theme, i must say)
...
they were dressed
in hues of gold & black
as if they were on their way to a ball;
tied with matching bows & sequins-
the details were exquistite
...
women to women
women for women
...
hands & hearts
in texas
for women in hamburg
with hands & hearts
in desperate need of a
pure as gold touch
...
the beauty on the outside of the cards
equally matched the beauty
of the message within:
in german, it read
Du bist Gold wert!
which is not a direct translation of
YOU ARE GOLD,
but says something like
YOU ARE AS WORTHY AS GOLD
notice the bracelet--
the girls in california made sure
that there was a bracelet made
for each one of us, too
you may remember from the other gifts that we've given that we believe it's important for us to handwrite a personal greeting to each woman. this time, we wrote a simple
God bless you!
Krista & Rebekka
those texas hands & hearts were also intent on blessing our brothel team as well. tucked away in the big box of cards we found these, that again, were made for each one us, thanking us for our minstry to the women.
here are the precious hands
of little miss grace
showing off one of the treasures
also included in the box they sent
were 250 little golden satchels.
to find out what each sack of gold contained,
and most importantly,
to learn about the women's responses
to these golden gifts of love,
check back tomorrow
