A Walk to Remember

no, it wasn't a romantic walk

like in the movie.

nope.

but it was way better...

when you go on a walk

 with your grandparents

who are visiting

and you get to hold their hands

and be propped up like so

and you get to give a

friendly wave

to the kayakers and canoers

going by under the bridge

and when you get to be held

by the people you love most

and just kinda gaze

at all of the cool stuff

in the water passing by

and just sit and relax

and enjoy being together

on a breezy,

70 something degree day

and you run down the path

with your sister

trying to find more sticks

to throw in the water

while daddy and grandpa

follow you closely by eye

(and mommy has to

eventually chase you down)

well then,

hey,

who needs romance?

not us!
we've got all the love we need

and we most certainly had

a

walk

to

remember
