YES
Hope came to church
Tears streamed down my face
As I worshipped God in song
Hope went to lunch with our family
It was good to be with her
But we have heavy hearts
Hope’s captor is coming to town
Tears streamed down my face
As I worshipped God in song
Hope went to lunch with our family
It was good to be with her
But we have heavy hearts
Hope’s captor is coming to town
Wednesday
She could flee
BUT
There is fear
There is hurt
There is anger
She could flee
BUT
There is fear
There is hurt
There is anger
And yes, there is still love
Once he’s here, she wants to face him
Tell him what she thinks
Save some face
Have some dignity
This is not what I have been called to do
I thought you said you loved me
You lied to me
How could you???
I don’t want to do this anymore
I want to go home
Once he’s here, she wants to face him
Tell him what she thinks
Save some face
Have some dignity
This is not what I have been called to do
I thought you said you loved me
You lied to me
How could you???
I don’t want to do this anymore
I want to go home
She has HOPE…
That he will listen to her
That he really loves her
That surely she won’t have to do this anymore
That she is different from the other women
he’s done this to for the past ten years
All I have is hope
I have to hope
Hope is all I have left
But her hope is in
But her hope is in
HIM
In a professional con-artist
In a liar and a deceiver
In a slave trader
But she hopes
HOPE
In a professional con-artist
In a liar and a deceiver
In a slave trader
But she hopes
HOPE
She also has hope in God
That He will help her if it gets really bad
She went to church with her grandmother as a little girl
Hope lives in her heart
HOPE
Why do we place our hope in things that hurt us?
Why do we hope in the things of this world--
in men, money, success, houses, clothing, food--
when all they can offer is something temporary?
All of these things can be good gifts--
but to place ALL of our hope in them
is dangerous
as no one and nothing but God
was created to fill the void in our hearts
that only He can fill.
Why do we return to that which abuses us
Time and time again
And leaves us hungry for more
Unsatisfied and still thirsting for the real thing.
(trust me, i am not pointing fingers here
i know this from personal experience)
It’s Hope in a Cage
The freedom to fly but would rather remain
The hope to really believe-
I deserve to fly
I am His child
I am blameless in His sight
I am free to return
Is not the hope I know
So I hope when I see him on Wednesday
that he will listen to me
and I won’t have to do this anymore…

It is in this HOPE that we place her,
and it is in this HOPE that we place our trust.
“No one whose hope is in You
will ever be put to shame” Psalm 25:3
***A huge thank you to those of you that have been praying for Hope. God hears our prayers and is working out her salvation in the midst of this mess. Although her ‘boss’ is coming to town and has told her that once he’s here she won’t be let out of his sight or that he may be taking her to Switzerland to work…we will still have HOPE that our good God surely will redeem and save her. I have, HOPEfully, the honor of seeing her again tomorrow, Tuesday, before he comes. We have plans to meet for Bible study at 11am at a cafĂ© on the Reeperbahn.
Love to you all,
Krista
postscript: right after I finished typing this post, guess who texted me on my cell? yep. Hope. she told me that she'd be leaving hamburg for sure on wednesdsay or thursday, and if i wanted to come and visit her tonight at the brothel to come...so I did...and it was nothing short of AMAZING. she is also still planning on meeting me tomorrow--for the last time--at 11am for Bible study. i am so thrilled and honored to be in her life. but keep praying for her--she is totally deceived and is in LOVE with this guy who's controlling her. it's awful. i will write more later in the week but it's 1am and I need to get to bed!

Beautifully written. I can't stand it though that he is coming so soon. More time Lord, delay this captor!!! Amen.
Praying HARD!!
I have so much hope for her -- whether you (and us through you) get to see it or not.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful, hopeful thoughts.
