is that nina?
(please nina, don't take offense-
i am not saying your belly looks like this)
or is it mama?
or is it meggan?
could that possibly be
miriam or is that sandra?
oh no, excuse me, that would be our lil 3 foot shoe thief. the reason shoes are so readily available around here for snatching is that it's german custom to take off your shoes when you enter someone's home.
german homes are CLEAN and thus don't want to be dirtied by shoes that, heaven forbid, have touched the sidewalks and streets--that's why everyone wishes they were married to a german hausfrau like nina, who keeps her floors nice and clean at all times.
thus, with a house that welcomes friends often, with so many cute shoes to choose from, our little shoe princess just can't help but try them on and strut through the house proudly, like
hey, hey, hey,
lookie here everybody,
look at ME!
i have so-and-so's shoes on!
am i adorable, or what!?
it's very cute...and we tell her,
oh, grace,
look at you with so-and-so's shoes on!
that is so silly!
look at you!
she loves it.
she just soaks it up.
as she should.
there's nothin wrong with trying to take a walk in someone else's shoes...maybe grace is all the wiser for it...or maybe we need to start saving our money now...as she may grow accustomed to it and learn that a girl can never have too many pairs...
