Salon Style

gracie got to go to the hair salon yesterday for the first time since we've been in germany. she was talking about it alllll week. she kept saying, "gracie go to annabelle for haircut!" we'd say, "yes, grace, you are going to annabelle on friday to get your hair cut like a big girl!" she was very excited.

look at these long, luscious locks. grace has absolutely gorgeous hair. but, it was getting pretty long and even luscious locks need to be cut once in a while.

the salon is 3 blocks away from our apartment. it's a fancy feeling place--but the prices are fantastic. it's only $10 euro (around $13) for buddy, jose or grace...pretty good, i must say. they even have cute smocks for the kids to wear...gracie was very impressed.

jose, i must admit, is not so impressed by the cool smock or fancy salon. truth is, he doesn't like getting his hair cut. i have to bribe him every time we go with an ice cream cone afterward...and the whole time he sits there he fusses and moves his head at just the wrong times. it isn't a fun experience. but grace, oh yes, she likes it--actually enjoys it. maybe it's a girl thing.

grace was so adorable while her hair was being chopped and layered and styled. she sat there with her hands neatly folded in her lap. she sat tall and regal, and kept admiring herself in the mirror. now you know why we call her princess sometimes :)

her hair cut is perfect...and she was so thrilled by the experience i didn't even need to mention an ice cream treat...it was also snowing so ice cream wouldn't have been the greatest idea. she kept telling people all day, "look, gracie haircut!"

but lookie here...who also got a new little hair style for the new year...

i actually got it done the day before christmas as a 'surprise' for buddy and thankfully he really, really likes it...or else it would've been a pretty awful christmas gift, don't ya think? so now both of daddy's girls are looking super stylin' :)
