the preacher's wife

yes, that would be me: the preacher's wife (i think that's the title of some cheesy whitney houston movie from the 90's). and a proud preacher's wife am i!

this past sunday buddy was invited to preach at his first church in germany. he did a wonderful job. sorry the picture above isn't the greatest, but come on, i was sitting in the front row and i had to try and play it cool somewhat--but i did manage to catch this shot at least :).

buddy's sermon was titled A Heart for God, and he taught on this by looking at the lives of David and Jesus. his sermon was very clearly presented and if you want to listen to it, click here: http://geesthacht.feg.de/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=140&Itemid=93 and click on his name (it should be easy to find since the rest are all german)...and then save the sermon to your computer. but be prepared to hear some german--but not from him--he taught in english but it was translated every sentence or two into german. may make it a little harder to listen to. i actually liked it because it gave me time (between his sentences) to really take in what he was saying.

the preacher took this very happy pic of he and his wife on the way to the church (it was out in a little town and it took us an hour by bus & train to get there). we had the kids with their babysitter, because i wanted to be able to give my undivided attention to buddy--so i don't know if our big smiles are because we were traveling without the kids (ha!) or because we were so excited for what was ahead.

buddy teaches thursday nights at the hauskreis (home group gathering) we host in our home each week, and he's been invited to speak at someone else's hauskreis in two weeks. i am so excited for him. he loves it. and i love seeing him ENJOYING this new aspect of his life: preparing, studying, writing, practicing, preaching...it is awesome.
