farmers' market

we have a farmers' market 2 blocks away from our house, 3 times a week: tuesdsay, thursday & saturday. it seems to be very popular here and i think people come from all over the city to this particular one. come along with us and see what you'd like to buy...maybe some

lovely flowers?



fresh fruit?






or how about some delicious veggies?

now if you buy only organic, you may like these carrots...this is how you find them in the store, too. if you buy 'bio' (that's how they say it here), with the extra cost you get free dirt.

now there are some booths that always have lines:
the meat/butcher guy
the fish guy (not my favorite!)
and the longest line is...

well...

it's the biggest reason i think people really come here...

i mean, forget about all of those fresh fruits & veggies...

people really come from far & wide for...

i am not kidding you, this is the 1st booth and they always have a line. notice above that the fries come with what they call "rot und weiss" red and white--ketchup and mayo--but the ketchup isn't like good ol red heinz-it is called curry ketchup and it tastes more like sweet n sour sauce with a slight curry flavor to it. and how about the mayo, hmmm? what do you think of that?(kathleen!) at first we didn't really like this daring duo--we wanted our tomato ketchup, but now we are locals, you know, and wouldn't have it any other way. not to say that we don't have a bottle of regular ketchup at home in case of severe cravings...
