I am so excited about the doors that God has opened for us over the past few weeks and I just wanted to fill you in. We have been here for 8 months and all of these opportunities have opened up in just the past few weeks...amazing!
3) Preaching: I (Buddy) was asked to preach at a church in Hamburg in November. This is a wonderful opportunity to preach/teach God's word and I am so excited. I will be preaching on "A Heart for God" and will focus on the lives of David & Jesus.
4) Home Group: Starting this past Thursday, we are now leading a Home Group each Thursday night. This Home Group is part of the church that we attend in Hamburg called International Baptist Church - Hamburg. This is a real blessing to have a dedicated time each week (7pm to 9pm) to share a meal together, worship in song (with Krista leading on guitar), pray, share what is going on in our lives and have a time of Bible Study that I put together.
5) BUDDY'S Update: We received our first communication from the owner 1 week ago! This is after about 8 months of trying, so you can imagine how excited we were. There is still a long way to go but hearing back from him is the first step. Please continue to join us in prayer about being able to rent out BUDDY'S!
These are big doors that have opened up and we are so grateful. Other encouraging things have been happening as well and maybe we can share about those another day....

DOORS that are now OPEN!!
1) Ministry in the Brothels: Krista has been asked to be a part of a ministry with 3 other women that go into 4 of the brothels each week. This is a HUGE opportunity and they are able to meet up to 100 women on a weekly basis. Krista started last week and loved it.
2) Street Ministry: We have been getting involved with a group who meet each Friday night and reach out to people in one of the "worst" areas of the city called St. Georg. It is a much different place than the Reeperbahn and has none of the "glamor" that the Reeperbahn has going for it. There are just a lot of hurting people (women and men prostituting, muslims, drug addicts...) who need Jesus in St. Georg and we are starting to have a heart for that area of the city, along with the Reeperbahn.3) Preaching: I (Buddy) was asked to preach at a church in Hamburg in November. Love it. Great Post. I really want to hear about how the whole visiting the brothel thing eventually happened and how it went. Exciting stuff!
