Daily Death Feels Good

(BUDDY--the reality of my sin in all areas of my life and how they separate me from true intimacy with Jesus has started to become so evident to me over these past few weeks. It is a very humbling but exciting reality and I am honestly so grateful to God for it. This post is my attempt to share what has been going on inside of me and I hope somehow it would be an encouragement to you.)

Cleanse me, transform me, strip me of my sin. Sin so easily entangles. It separates us from our Father. Every sin, no matter how small, separates us. To have the mind of Christ, we must be stripped of the sin that so easily and effectively entangles us. My prayer is to speak God's heart in this area, not mine. To speak His heart, not mine. As we confess it, as we tell others about it, as we weep about it, He will renew us. Un-confessed sin is a silent killer. It keeps us at a safe distance from God. A distance that the enemy loves but that our souls hate.

Come, all who are weary and He will give you rest. Lay every sin before Him, be His obedient disciple. Your soul longs for this; your spirit longs for this. True, intimate relationship with Jesus. These sins separate. Our fear--never lets us experience trusting Him. Our anxiety--puts the focus all over us and it dries us up. Our selfishness--takes the life and joy out of us. Lust--destroys us from the inside out, missing Him.

Jesus, we give you every sin in our hearts and in our minds right now. We come honestly and boldly and trusting before You with all of our junk. We give You the subtle sins, the sins that have entangled us for years, the ones that last only minutes. Everyone of them, we name them and we give them to You. May we be radically dependent on doing this everyday/all day.

You are faithful and just to forgive us and restore us as we confess. The enemy wants us to keep them inside, so we keep our distance from You. No more of that! Daily, hourly, by the minute, whatever it takes to be intimate with You, we give You and ask You to strip us of these sins, so we can connect with You. Nothing else satisfies but You and we want all of You. We have been living in the counterfeit, living on the fringes for too long. Intimacy is what our souls and our spirit longs for and that is where we want to be. Thank you Jesus for being so faithful and please help us to be stripped of the sin that so easily entangles, so we can be so connected to You. Amen.
