We Made It!

(Krista) Hello friends and family! We are here, and as Buddy is saying like Dorothy to Toto "We're not in Sparr Heights any more." We have entered the country of a lot of tall, lean people, fresh bread and butter, salami und cheese, and mineral water. This morning the kids woke up around 2:30am and were running around the apartment making way too much noise for the middle of the night. This morning the jet lag was pretty fierce but right now I think we're all feeling good--but who knows how tonight will go. Today we slept a lot. Buddy and the kids are on the bed right now wrestling--the picture we've included only has Jose and Daddy on the bed as when I went to take the picture just now Gracie had had enough of wrestling and began hitting and then went to her crib for a little time out--yes, the kids are still kids, even in Hamburg. Speaking of the princess, thanks for praying for Grace's health--what looked like the beginning of an ear infection didn't affect her on the plane one bit--she even slept the entire night! The flights seemed to go by quickly and before you knew it we were in Hamburg. Our temporary apartment is great and Jose and Grace are still enjoying exploring all the ins and outs of it. The weather here is cold but not as cold as I thought it would be, and the kids don't seem to mind it at all. The kids have have been saying their family's names at random times..."Papa. Mimi, Cole/Paige, Nina..." so know that they are thinking of you all (it was cute but sad to hear b/c they have no clue that they aren't going to see their favorite people any time soon). Last week was so busy gettng ready for our move, it all seems like a blur. Thank you so much to all of you who came by to say goodbye, who helped us in numerous ways, and just for your support in general. It means so much. This is it for now...Love to you all!

We are so glad that you arrived safely and that you have had a chance to start catching up on your sleep. Lauren's new favorite thing, as of this morning, is wrapping herself if Jose's blanket and playing "queen". We love you all and enjoy being reminded of you as we look around our house!
Love, Tara, Hans, and Lauren

Hello fairest Godmother and Patton family! H & T, which blanket was the Queen wearing? The blue wool one was made for Jose from someone at Dole (and is so warm!) and the colorful one was made by our neighbor. So glad they are being used--and by royalty! ;) Thank you for TAKING all of it in!!! Love you guys!

Hi! The queen is favoring the colorful one. As a matter of fact, she is wrapped up in it right now. She also loves sticking her fingers through all of the "holes" between stitches. So cute!

Hans has been busy painting the dining room chairs black. They are looking awesome!

We love you!

So excited to hear you have arrived safely and that Gracie was able to sleep on the flight. Jon's first words this morning were "Jose" "Buddy Walk" and he insisted that I "Get Picture" before we could do anything. He now has your picture on his magnetic board and regularly goes and points to each of you and identifies you. We're praying for you! Love ya!

Hello Brewer family!
Chris and I were just sitting here watching the new neighbors who are busy getting settled across the street, and wondering if you guys were in Germany yet - so we thought we'd check your blog and see... so glad to see you made it safe and sound. We hope you enjoy this new adventure and we'll keep up with you on your blog! Ann and Chris

I'm sorry to hear that Buddy is going bald.
I found that out from Iris' post above "Ich hoffe, wir sehen uns bald :o)" which directly translates to "his hair, with sadness is going bald". Don't worry Buddy, you're in good company :-)
